With all the excitement building around the magnificent Airbus A380 – scheduled for several appearances during the Farnborough Airshow – Airbus sought a stand with a real ‘wow’ factor. Inspired by Enigma’s ground-breaking design, they unanimously asked us to create their high-profile stand - in less than a month!
Because Airbus were introducing the magnificent Airbus 380 and its stunning interiors to a major British audience for the first time, Enigma created a ground-breaking stand, inspired by the lines of Airbus aircraft and designed to deliver the kind of high impact atmosphere that would reflect well on the world’s leading aircraft manufacturer. Extremely hard work – helped by excellent working relationships – led to tight but assured delivery.
Prime Minister Tony Blair visited just two stands in the main hall – Airbus and QinetiQ – both times staying for much longer than expected. And both Enigma stands.

MOOG’s previous supplier had been with them for ten years – so at Enigma, we were understandably keen to make an impact. As ever, we used every element to ensure impact, from materials, lighting and colour to furniture, flowing shapes and sightlines.

A longstanding client, QinetiQ looked to Enigma for a chalet stand at the Farnborough International Airshow. They asked if we could produce a big capability message to underline their outstanding innovation credentials.
Using high technology and video production techniques, Enigma delivered a high impact stand centered on the stunning solar-powered Zephyr reconnaissance aircraft. The design provided an umbrella and welcome to the product showcase. Straightforward language and strong graphical elements provided interactive, intriguing and interesting displays. Internal responses were highly positive.
Air Program Director Bill Tyack called the stand:
“an excellent development from the last major show we did with you and fantastic communication of very technical products – well done!”
The chalet offered a modern Mediterranean style silver-service full working restaurant, with Enigma helping design everything from uniforms and menus to the logistics required for entertaining to a high level. Strong bold designs created a warm, inviting and contemporary space.
When Prime Minister Tony Blair visited, he was on just two stands in the main hall – Airbus and QinetiQ. On both occasions, he stayed for much longer than planned. On both occasions, he was visiting Enigma stands.
